Ukiah Branch Library, 105 N Main Street

The Ukiah Branch Library staff invites the ART community to join us for Art Walk Ukiah on Friday,

December 6, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. Come see the work of local artist Leslie Kirkpatrick and her

unique collection of assemblage art. Assemblage is a style of art made by bringing together

disparate elements. Vintage or everyday objects are repurposed by the artist and given a

second life through their artistic assembly. Kirkpatrick enjoys recycling old things and putting

them together in creative, new ways. On December 6 at 3:30 p.m., the library will also host a special mural unveiling celebration. The exterior entrance has been transformed into a whimsical tribute to how books inspire the imagination. The mural features three children and their cat reading a book together, imagining themselves in the story riding mythological creatures. Local artist Dell Linney was commissioned to paint a welcoming and inclusive mural. Over the months, curious onlookers have watched Linney’s concept come to life as she painted the massive wall from top to bottom. Enjoy live music by Rosie Wetzel and Steve Hahm of the BP3, and an all ages, in-person collage craft. Browse our book sale and fill up a bag for just $5. Shop for sweet treats at the

Friends of the Library’s annual bake sale. Mural-themed tote bags will also be available for

purchase. This event is free to the public, open to all ages, and sponsored by the Ukiah Valley

Friends of the Library and Mendocino County Library.
