Corner Gallery Ukiah “Art and Soul”
Art and Soul” in the front windows new works from local artists Monica Newell, Ray Benitez, Braven Haynes, Tim Carmack, Natalie Munoz and friends. These residents of Building Bridges, have been working all year on art reflecting their talent and drive to express themselves through paint, graphite, clay, paper, textiles and found objects. Supported with a grant from the Community Foundation.Young Artist Wall: Redwood Valley resident Trinity Thurner oil paintings and prints.

Art Center Ukiah – “Standing Strong”

July 4th of this year will be the 250th anniversary of United States as a nation. Local artists’ exhibit works expressing the relationships to the past, expectations of the future and celebration of what keeps United States strong. A range of works including paintings, sculpture, photography, fabric works and mixed media.

Medium Art Center is proud to partner with R.I.S.E. (Realizing Interdependent Success and Empowerment) to present its upcoming July juried group exhibition, The Music Within: Our Worlds Matter.
“The Music Within: Our Worlds Matter” is an exhibition supporting neurodivergent artists or artists with disabilities, whether diagnosed or not, in celebration of Disability Pride month. The theme of this show is represented in a quote: “Most people go to their graves with their music still inside them.” This is an opportunity for artists to let their creativity out. We are breaking down walls, coming out of isolation into celebration, because our worlds matter.
The opening will have music provided by MC REY 3 – a rising hip-hop artist now residing in Mendocino County, known for his raw storytelling, gritty visuals, and versatile flow. Blending atmospheric production with sharp lyricism, he crafts music rooted in resilience, identity, and real-world experience. With a growing underground following and a unique urban aesthetic, MC REY 3 is carving out his own lane—unapologetic, authentic, and ready for the next level.
As always, there will be a community art project – an opportunity to make your own art at the opening.
The exhibition will run from July 3 to August 4, 2026, with an opening reception on Friday, July 3, during Ukiah’s First Friday Art Walk. Free and open to the public. Gallery hours: Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Join Luxe on First Friday for a tribute to Scott M Patterson.
Scott M Patterson (1956-1986) was a photographer from Mendocino County who specialized in photographs of local Native Americans. He worked primarily in black and white film and was influenced by Ansel Adams. He developed and printed all his own work. He was interested in documenting contemporary Pomo life from basket-weaving to the process of making clam shell disc beads to recording important plants and their uses. He was involved in the Lake Sonoma Sedge Transplant Project, Lake Mendocino History Project- “They came to Shodokai “and numerous environmental impact studies. His work is showcased in many museums and books. His appreciation of the rural landscape and his deep respect for its Native people allowed him to make intimate portraits of them. He made special studies of well-known Pomo and Wappo basketmakers, one of whom was Elsie Allen. Before his untimely death in a car accident in 1986, he lived in Redwood Valley with his wife and two daughters.

The Grace Hudson Museum

Spend a part of your July First Friday Art Walk at the Grace Hudson Museum. We are delighted to welcome back Paul Steward, an award-winning singer and musician hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area. His music fuses Blues, R&B, Pop, and Native American sounds — a tribute to his Elem Pomo tribal roots. Visually, you’ll be able to check out latest exhibition, Look Again: Portraits of Daring Women. This traveling show from Exhibit Envoy features woodblock and collage prints by Julie Lapping Rivera that focus on significant women, many of whom were underappreciated in their time. For the Grace Hudson Museum presentation, Look Again also includes 15 Mendocino County artists who have created artwork depicting women who were family members, friends, mentors, public figures, or otherwise inspirational. You’ll also be able to spend time discovering or getting reacquainted with our core galleries, featuring Grace Hudson’s artwork, exquisite Pomo basketry, and Carpenter-Hudson family history. With the long evening daylight, you can also enjoy a walk in our Wild Gardens. Light refreshments will be available. First Fridays at the Grace Hudson Museum are always free all day and evening. Please note, for this First Friday, we will be closing at or around 7:00 PM.

Ramen Cubed
Location: 113 S. State Street, Ukiah
Join Ramen Cubed for their first Art Walk event featuring UMBRA. UMBRA is an immersive installation exploring transition, suspension, and shifting states of perception. Using reflective materials, light, movement, and spatial intervention, the work transforms the space into an environment of subtle instability and change.
The installation draws from ideas of thresholds, impermanence, and temporary refuge, creating a fragmented landscape of reflections, shadows, and suspended forms. Blending elements of installation and performance, UMBRA approaches transformation not as a fixed destination, but as a condition of passage.
Created by artist Jessica Hernandez, with collaborative contributions by performance artist and choreographer Paloma Rodríguez Irizarry, and fiber and sacred geometry artist Marcela “Jazpaz.”
